Whenever we speak of cheap yet great shopping hubs in Delhi, the first place which pops to our mind is Sarojini Nagar. If you are a Delhiite, odds are that you have been there (only) a gazillion times! Be it with your mom, your besties, your bae or that cousin from America, you’ve been there to shop with all of them. Oh, yes you have! While nothing can beat the charm of SN market, here a couple of other equally cheap and great shopping spots in Delhi.

Sarojini Nagar’s famous cousin, Lajpat Nagar Central market has a lot to offer and at an apt price. Of course there’s cheap clothes and shoes, but one can easily find the little yet very important stuff which you won’t be able to find elsewhere. From fancy dress materials, ready made garments, shoes & bags, jewelry, decorative items, occasional wear- name it and you have it. Bonus: you’ll never leave hungry from this place, since the market has tons of lip-smacking food options too.

2. Janpath

The inner college-kid in us is somersaulting right now just reminiscing about this place! If you’re looking for some amazingly cheap deals on daily wear, then look no beyond Janpath market. Located in the heart of central Delhi, Janpath has each and every item you need to dress yourself up from head to toe for a regular college day. From funky tees & shoes, to kurtis, bags, scarves, shades, to beautiful jhumkis & jewelry pieces, Janpath has a lot to offer for college kids.

3. Paharganj

Spread over about a kilometer, this old Delhi hub mainly caters to the expats and backpackers. But since it’s so cheap yet trendy, there’s no reason college-goers in particular can’t explore it for their daily wear options. Especially if you are someone who’s looking to add some hippie vibe, chunky oxidised jewelry and leather bags to your wardrobe, this is the place to be! Also, in case you get hungry after all the shopping and bargaining, there are a lot of options for street food as well.

4. GK 1, M block Market

It’s time we move to the posh South Delhi area and talk about the street shopping scene here. If you’re looking to add cheap yet super trendy options to your dailywear, GK 1, M block market is your one-stop. Although, it’s not as cheap as a Sarojini or a Janpath, but yet, at a decent price you can buy super trendy clothes, bags and jewelry here. Also, it’s bang in the middle of South Delhi, so expect the market to be updated with the latest trends in the fashion world. Let’s just say this is the perfect spot for those looking for affordable yet fashion forward stuff.

5. Majnu Ka Tilla

Now here’s one place which offers very different stuff from rest of the street markets. Located pretty close to ISBT Kashmere Gate, Majnu Ka Tilla has the beautiful Tibetan market nestled in it. Especially during winters, they have great variety to offer on shawls, stoles, jackets, boots and bags. While the stuff they offer is a super hit among college crowd, you must have solid bargaining skills to strike the perfect deal. The Tibetan food joints here are also pretty famous. So while you are shopping you should also take a tiny break to hog on to the scrumptious Tibetan cuisine.
