23-year-old Magnolia Bakery, in Bleecker Street, New York first used leftover cake batter to bake lip-smacking cupcakes. The bakery is known for its desserts, especially its cupcakes. In 1996, the first outlet was opened up in New York. Thereafter it became immensely popular and started the cupcake craze.
