Embracing 2019: 5 Not so Cliche New Year’s Resolutions You Can Try Out This Year

957

Dear Delhi, it’s time to make some New Year resolutions as we bid adieu to the year that has been. With 2019 approaching, let us all strive to live a full, healthy, and complete life. Now, we will not get into the cliche resolutions but help you opt for choices that will help you grow as an individual, and let us all try to stick to these!

  1. Career choices

If 2018 has been a year where you have not been happy with your career choices, then dump it! Move on to do something that you are passionate about and interests you the most. Take risks that you never thought you will. After all, “Darr ke aage jeet hain.”

  1. Compassion

A resolution that we should all strive to take is that to show compassion towards fellow human beings. With so many adversities going on around the world, every little step that each one of us takes counts. Now, don’t we all want to live in a world of kindness and love? As Ellen Degeneres quotes, “Be kind to one another.”

  1. Choose Life

We all know how bad the quality of air in Delhi is! The unhealthy level of pollution is leading to toxic diseases and that’s a genuine threat of concern not just in the country, but even abroad. This New Year, let us try to make choices that make this city at least bearable to live in. A few things we can do are- stop the use of plastic, carpool whenever we can, get the pollution levels in our cars checked every few months, and recycle products wherever possible.

  1. Enter the “Real” Life

If we ask you how many of you are on any social media platform, there are at least 90% of you who will answer with a “Yes.” Although the advent of social media has helped reduce boundaries within countries and helped us learn more about each other as global citizens, it has also taken over our personal lives. Why don’t we take a resolution where we make sure that we take out a few hours in a week to catch up with our family and friends and have a heart-to-heart chat over a coffee or brunch? Trust us, you are going to feel so much better when you have a nice time with your near and dear ones!

  1. Get rid of toxic relationships

Toxic relationships can harm you in many ways and usher you to lead a degenerate life. If you are surrounded by any toxic or negative relationship for a long while with a love interest, leave it all behind. A negative mind only creates hatred and pessimism, and trust us, no one wants that!
