Summer is that time of the year when one can enjoy the pleasures of being outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature. If you have access to a pool or a beach there’s nothing quite like it but even if you don’t, there are plenty of ways to plan a vacation to places which do have them in plenty. Just search the web for cheap flights to thailand, Seychelles, Maldives or any other location of your choice and you’re on your way.

If you love Yoga, then there are plenty of ways in which you can combine a visit to the beach with some beautiful Yoga poses. New York based Celebrity Yoga Instructor Kristin Mcgeesuggests some really fun poses you can do with your kids at the beach or pool this summer . All of these yoga postures stretch open tight shoulders and upper backs and strengthen the arms, legs and core for swimming and beach activities

Crab walk. Place your hands behind your back and bend your knees so your feet are directly under your ankles. Use your arms, hips, thighs and belly to lift you up in to a table top position. Crab walk around each other in and come back to center, then crab walk around each other the other direction.

Face each other with knees bent and feet together, reach for each other’s hands and place the sole of each foot together raising the legs in the air one at a time. You can rock forward and back if possible or hold and try and lift tall out of your lower back and eventually straighten your legs. This will work your lower abdominals and waist
