The festival of colours- Holi is one of the most vibrant of all Hindu festivals. Holi marks as the end of the winter season and welcomes the spring season. And if you want to witness the real Holi celebrations, you’ve got to check out the Barsana ki Holi in Mathura. It’s also known as Laddu Holi or Lath Maar Holi which is played at Shri Radha Rani temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura. The legends say, once Krishna comes to Barsana (village) and drenches Radha in colours. The women of the village become angry and chase the group with their sticks. Since then during the festival of colours- Holi is celebrated as ‘Lathmar Holi’.
