A British Historical Period Drama, Poldark is based on the novels of the same name by Winston Graham. Ross Poldark returns to England after fighting in the American Revolution. Cut to the drama, he finds that the woman he was supposed to marry is engaged to his own cousin, his father is dead, and the property he inherited is slowly deteriorating. The Tudor dynasty is one of the most famous in history. For the unaware, it was the English royal house of Welsh origin and had 5 monarchs between 14th & 16th century. This historical fiction TV series centres on this Renaissance Dynasty under the reign of King Henry VIII, with the vicious Cardinal Wolsey as his advisor and his search for a way to end his marriage to Catherine of Aragon to make Anne Boleyn his wife. Definitely sounds like an intriguing plot, doesn’t it?

When he commissions Versailles, the nobles seek entry into the lavish residence, which they do not realize is meant to imprison and control them. The series also shows his queen Marie Theresa trying to win back from his mistress, the English king’s sister. Love, power, betrayal and war are all part of daily life in Versailles, making this show a must-watch for you all!
