The final season of Game of Thrones is all set to air this Sunday, April 14th, and as GOT fans, we are beyond excited! However, if you are still a GOT virgin (like seriously? still?) then here is our last attempt to change your mind. Besides the fact that everyone is watching it and it’s totally worth the hype, here are 8 other reasons to start watching Game of Thrones like RIGHT NOW because… Winter is coming!

Caution: Spoilers Ahead (because, of course!)

1. First of its Kind

When Game of Thrones first aired in 2011 all anyone could talk about was how this show was the first of its kind. The makers did not shy away from showing the gory details. With so much violence, bloodshed, nudity etc. GOT was much ahead of its time and is probably also the last of its kind. GOT started a revolution, and while there are many shows now which show similar content, none of them can ever match up to Game of Thrones.

2. Strong and Badass Female Characters

Not giving you any spoilers but, let us tell you that the leading ladies in this show mean business. The girls are powerful, independent and headstrong. They know what they want, and they know how to get it. They will go to any means to get what they want (read: the iron throne) even if it means burning an entire city down, or watching calmly while your brother dies a painful death.

3. Lots of Eye Candy

There are so many good looking people on this show that you are going to have a new love interest in every episode. Khal Drogo, Jon Snow, Rob Stark, Jamie Lannister, Sansa Stark, Daenerys, Arya Stark, Ygritte and the list can go on and on. There are plenty of good looking people to feast your eyes on. However, don’t get too attached (which is not possible) because you never know which one of your crushes are going to get crushed in the next episode.

4. Ruthless Villains

This show has introduced the world to some of the most unrelenting, merciless villains who you’re going to love to hate. They will make your blood boil, make you scream in disbelief and say ‘How could he/she’ at least 8 times per episode. They will also make you jump with joy at their deaths because of course Valar Moghulis (you’ll have to watch the series to know what that means!)

5. You Are Going to Get Attached to the Characters

You are going to love the Starks as if they are your siblings and hate the Lannisters as if they’re your worst enemies. Youll root for Daenerys and hate on her brother. You will also feel the joy and happiness when Sansa monstrous husband finally dies; it will give you the #justiceserved feelings. All in all, you are going to get deeply attached to the characters and the storyline, so much so that you will feel all their emotions and some of the scenes will hit you so hard that they will stay with you long after you’ve watched the episode.

6. Not a Single Dull Moment

With some great characters and beautiful locations and different stories, you will never find a single moment to take your eyes off the screen. This show is going to keep you hooked until the end of each episode and even then leave you with a cliff hanger, pushing you to watch the next episode ASAP. The long monologues will keep you just as entertained as the violent and super realistic fight sequences. The wars and the battles and the untimely deaths of the characters, the shocks and surprises will keep you at the edge of your seat, always!

7. Be it Scale, Money & Locations; The Show is Truly Epic

During season 1, this show cost about $6 million per episode to produce. In season 2, it went up to around $7 million, and by the time we got to season 6, HBO was shilling out an average of $10 million per episode. The final season with 6 episodes is said to have a budget of $90 million which is $15 million per episode. So you know it’s going to be epic. Not only that, the show which is set in Northern Ireland has benefited their economy by $65 million and tourism has increased by 28 per cent in Dubrovnik and 13 per cent in Iceland. Now isn’t that something?

8. There is Something for Everyone

While Game of Thrones is one of its kind, it has something to offer for everyone. Whether you are a fan of historical movies/shows with kings and queens or fantasies, with dragons and other mythical creature, GOT has something in store for you all. It’s House of Cards meets The Walking Dead meets Harry Potter meets Lord of the rings, and yet the show has its character and a story of its own.

Need we say more? GOT is one of the lost brilliant shows we have watched and while you are pretty late to the party, we suggest you hop on to the wagon now because its better late than never!
