The Purpose Behind This Initiative

The DDA is determined to cover more of Delhi as Green Carpet by planting around 4 lakh indigenous species this year keeping in mind its sustainable environment. As a new initiative, they have also asked the school children of Class VI and above in various schools to plant and adopt a tree and to place name plaques on the adopted tree to inculcate the idea of belongingness. Isn’t that a great initiative!

We all know that Delhi has time and again been named as the city with soaring pollution levels. But these drives are revamping the city with such eco-friendly makeovers! So by the end of 2019, we’re hoping to see more of these green initiatives and hopefully, other cities will be following suit soon.
