We can’t get it either! But the eight-and-a-half-acre farmhouse was built in 1736 and boasts of a river and a pond in the back. The Real Story Behind The House

For those of you who were too scared to watch The Conjuring, the movie is based on the real-life story of the Perron family who moved into a farmhouse where they experience supernatural phenomena. However, they consult demonologists, Ed and Lorraine, to help them get rid of the evil entity haunting them. And of course, this is a true story!

The real Perron family lived in the farmhouse for around ten years. The house located in the small country town of Harrisville, Rhode Island was bought by Roger Perron and his wife Carolyn in the winter of 1970. The Perron family believes that they were haunted by something while they lived in the farmhouse. They even got in touch with Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal investigators.

Regardless of whether the haunting occurred in exactly the way that it has been shown in the film, something very real happened to the Perron family and their fate went on to help craft one of the scariest movies of the 2000s!
