1. Heritage And Transport Museum

The Heritage and Transport Museum takes us on a drive through the history of Indian transportation and its sequential developments. The museum displays everything ranging from a vibrant collection of vintage cars, scooters, and bullock carts! As soon as you enter, the 1946 Piper aircraft, boat and transport toys will catch your attention. If you have a thing for history, machines and vehicles, then this is a haven you must check out!

2. The Museum Of Geographical Heritage

Our Dilli was recently blessed with its first geography museum, yes! It’s a perfect place for all the school and college students to research and learn about evolution and change. The Museum Of Geographical Heritage, which opened up in 2018, has a variety of soils, rocks, trees and much more. It is the brainchild of two Delhi University teachers — R B Singh, Geography Professor, DU and Tejbir Singh Rana of Shivaji College.

3. Museo Camera – The Vintage Camera Museum

The museum houses over 1,000 cameras that are collected from different places around the world. Inaugurated in 2009, a walk through The Vintage Camera Museum will take you through the evolution of cameras from the ancient to the modern DSLR. On display you will witness the oldest camera lenses, flash equipment, photographic films, enlargers, and light metals. All the photographers out there, you should defo head here to know more about the ancient history of cameras.

4. Sulabh International Museum Of Toilets

It is said to be a one-of-its kind museum in the world. Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak working on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of sanitation, set up the Sulabh International Toilet Museum, which is located in West Delhi area. It has got a collection of lavatories, toilet furniture, bidets, and water closets that will provide you information about the development of toilets through the eras. You will be amazed to see how science has changed everything, including toilets.

5. Ghalib Museum

Paying respect and honour to the timeless poetry of the most legendary Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib, the Ghalib Museum showcases the splendour of poetic aura that the maestro has left behind. It’s an art gallery which holds his calligraphy specimens, handwritten books, poems, sher and shayaris, photographs, and clothes. If you love history and poetry, you should head here for sure.

6. Kiran Nadar Museum Of Art

It’s a contemporary art museum that was established by Kiran Nadar, an art enthusiast, in 2010. It showcases the beautiful works of 20th-century Indian artists and contemporary painters. And if you are a true blue art enthusiast, the art pieces will leave you awestruck for sure! They also organize summer workshops, storytelling sessions and craft workshops. The place is perfect for all the art enthusiasts in the town!

7. Delhi Metro Museum

Delhi Metro Museum showcases the everyday journey of metro through small, working models. Explaining the origin, history, construction and development journey through models, photographs, exhibits, drawing boards, the place will excite you more to learn. Besides Delhi, museums of this kind are only present in Europe, Japan and the United States. Apart from this, they have a shop that has metro neckties, badges, bookmarks, tie pins, key chains, books etc.
